The Goodwood Education Trust connects children and young people with nature, particularly those who are disadvantaged or vulnerable.

Goodwood has a new and ambitious mission to champion and deliver art education for children and young people as a core part of the new Goodwood Art Foundation, a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC). The Estate’s stunning landscape and buildings will provide the perfect location for a new and carefully structured creative learning programme built around the Foundation’s annual Art Programme.
The children haven't stopped talking about their visit to Goodwood Home Farm, and we believe that this experience will have a lasting impact on their understanding of agriculture and the environment. It is wonderful to see our young learners so enthusiastic about their newfound knowledge.

Nestled in Seeley Copse, a 20 acre remnant of ancient woodland dedicated exclusively to education, the Goodwood Education Centre is the starting point for the majority of educational visits. This purpose-built facility has a bright and airy classroom for up to 60 children and provides access to safe, practical hands-on learning and enrichment activities year-round. The building is wheelchair accessible, has disabled and unisex toilet facilities, and there is ample parking for coaches and minibuses in the dairy car park directly opposite.
In the Copse itself there are three year round outdoor learning spaces, for our exclusive use. The one nearest the Education Centre has a permanent shelter, while one within 5 minutes walk has a parachute canopy. We work outdoors in most weathers except in very high winds, when alternative activities can be arranged.
At the Goodwood Education Trust we specialise in connecting children with nature who might otherwise face barriers in spending time outside. We know that spending time in nature can lead to improved mental wellbeing, physical health, increased confidence, nature connectedness, understanding and engagement in daily life.
We offer day-long Forest Adventures (LINK) in West Sussex school holidays, for primary age explorers. We were a HAF Provider in 2023 and 2024 with West Sussex County Council (for Holiday, Activity and Food programme for children eligible for means-tested Free School Meals). Check back for our 2025 provision. We offer free woodland activity days for local groups supporting children facing challenging circumstances such as Young Carers, children living with a life-limiting or terminal condition, those with terminally ill siblings. Do contact us to find out more. We run regular Family Fun Days for Aspens, for families with a child with autism.
We do not have the capicity to work with adult groups.
