Legend of Goodwood's golden racing era and Le Mans winner Roy Salvadori once famously said "give me Goodwood on a summer's day and you can forget the rest". Well, Roy, sometimes days like today's Vee-Power Sunday leave us wanting for a summer's day, or indeed 'the rest'.
Yet there is something truly spectacularly satisfying about seeing the high-powered v-engined machinery brave the moisture; whose owners woke up, saw the conditions and wheeled their cars out of the cosy comfort of their garages anyway. Because let's face it, when you have v-power underfoot, you can be forgiven for thinking twice when the roads are slick.
So with this in mind, we thought we'd pick a selection of favourites based on how scared we'd personally be to drive them here. A Ferrari SF90 may have almost 1,000PS (735kW), but it can be driven in all-electric mode. A Jensen FF is a monster old V8, but it has all-wheel-drive, as does the Ferrari actually.
The stand-out heroes are the classic Dodge Charger with its rubber donut tyres and the Noble M600 with its old-school brute character sending twin-turbo V8 power to the rear wheels. We'd personally be fearful of an old Viper in the dry, so props to Captain America for strong-arming one down this morning. On the other end of the spectrum, the Morgan Three-Wheeler perhaps epitomises the 'rain or shine' Breakfast Club endeavour – do you think the driver might be a bit wet?
These are just a few of our heroes of Breakfast Club and of course there are many more besides, because everyone that makes their way down to put on this show with us is a hero by default. Still, you can now tell us which of these is your favourite.
