The sun has risen on the fifth and final Goodwood Breakfast Club of 2019, and in a stark contrast to yesterday’s tempest, there’s not a breath of wind to be felt.
While the forecast wet conditions may have deterred some of our ‘80s enthusiasts, the circuit is already abuzz with the best examples of the decade, with everything from a Peugeot 205 GTi to a Ferrari Testarossa lining up on the grid.
In the paddock, we have more fine examples of ‘80s metal, including BMW E21s, Porsche 944s, Ford Sierra Cosworths, DeLoreans, Lotus Esprits and a couple of Audi Quattros.
As I write this, a sunshine yellow Lotus Esprit emerges from the tunnel, resplendent in the early morning haze. We’ll have plenty more galleries throughout the morning, so stay tuned.
The only disappointment is that the perm count currently stands at a solid zero.
