2021 Festival of Speed timetable

The first day is a bit of a warm up for the main event to come, with manufacturers sending some of their latest cars up the Hill, interspersed with supercar debuts, the stars of the rally stage and off-road arena, and some Timed Shootout practice. There will also be the first moment for our celebrated marque for 2021: Lotus.

While Thursday is just as much a part of the Festival of Speed, it is Friday when the action really starts to hot up. We begin with the oldest cars at the Festival, the pre-war racers, before heading through the history of Indy and Mercedes, Penske, Jacky Ickx and more. The batches are, as usual, repeated twice during each day, and on every day, so you won’t miss a thing. Friday’s highlights will be the celebration of Lotus and another round of Timed Shootout Practice at 16:00.

Saturday kicks off in rowdy fashion, with drift and NASCAR providing some proper smoking, noisy fun. The rest of the day is highlighted by a display from the Red Arrows, and a celebration of the life and career of the much-missed Murray Walker, who passed away earlier in 2021. If you’re looking for the fastest runners, Shootout Qualifying will start at 16:40, so remember to get your place beside the hill or near your screen ready.

On Sunday we celebrate Roger Penske and his amazing career. Roger will appear in the Assembly Area as well as on the Hill, driving the Penske-run Porsche RS Spyder that won the Sebring 12 Hours in 2008. We’ll also celebrate Lotus one final time, before Mario Andretti takes centre stage for an interview on the balcony of Goodwood House. The denouement of the weekend will come at 16:05 when the final Timed Shootout starts, followed, for those watching on the stream, by the Goodwood eTrophy final, and a chance to see the Festival’s first ever esports race. The Red Arrows will help bring the event to an incredible conclusion with a final display at 17:45.
