2022 Festival of Speed entry list revealed

To mention a few of the highlights gracing Goodwood over 23^rd-26^th June we should of course start at the top, with the Formula 1 machinery that is heading up the Hill. In just the section for Grand Prix Greats you’ll find the Williams FW14B – driven by Nigel Mansell himself – McLaren MP4/5, and MP4/25, Renault RS10, Shadow DN9, Jordan 191 and more.

The list of attendees from the world of sportscars includes everything from a collection of 15 Group C era cars to celebrate the class’s 40^th anniversary, to the very latest Le Mans racing cars from Glickenhaus and Porsche. That of course means we can include such beauties as the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Periscopica, Porsche 917K and the mighty Dodge Viper GTS-R.

The tin top world is just as well represented at the Festival this year. With the 2022 BTCC season in action on the Hill in the form of a brand new Ford Focus hybrid, alongside a slew of legends from the Supertouring era – Vauxhall Vectra, Ford Mondeo, Audi A4 and Nissan Primera. For fans of DTM’s greatest days we’ll have Audi’s V8 Quattro DTM in the hands of Tom Kristensen while from the even earlier days you can see the bonkers Zakspeed Capri.

Drifting has become one of the key bits of the Festival of Speed since it made its debut in 2014, and this year will be no exception. The popular Driftkhana competition brings competitive drifting to the hill and drivers include multiple Formula Drift champion James Deane, Goodwood regular Steve “Baggsy” Biagioni. Remember to keep an eye out for Axel Hildebrand’s Chevrolet Corvette C6, which has a bit of a twist to it...

The world of stage rallying will of course be on display, with all possible disciplines in focus. From the endurance rallying stars of the Dakar Rally – BRX Hunter, Peugeot 3008 DKR, Toyota Hilux – to the stages of the WRC, represented by Ford, Subaru and Citroën.

There’s far too much on the entry list to go through every batch, but don’t forget to check out the amazing debuts in the Supercar Run and First Glance classes, see the cars that will take to the Forest Rally Stage and check out what is on show on the Off-Road Arena. We haven’t even mentioned our celebrations of BMW M’s 50^th anniversary or Ferrari’s 75^th.

But, before we leave you with the list, it would be remiss of us to mention the amazing list of cars set to run in the Timed Shootout. These include the beautiful Ferraris 500 TRC, 750 Monza, 156 Sharknose and 246S Dino. Brutal Can-Am cars from Hepworth and McLaren will run timed as well as legendary Lancia rally machines. Keep an eye out for Ric Woods’ bonkers Calsonic Nissan Skyline GT-R – as made famous by Jake Hill – as well as the Hydrogen-powered H24 LMPH2G. There will even be a pair of Extreme E cars attacking the hill as well as the world debut of the brand new Gen3 Formula E car.

It is going to be an absolutely barnstorming four days, but remember this entry list is provisional and subject to change right up until the event itself.
