In 2024, the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard is all about celebrating the timeline of propulsion. The theme 'Horseless to Hybrid – Revolutions in Power' will celebrate the evolution of the motoring industry, from the very earliest days of the ‘horseless carriage’ to today’s relentless march towards ever more sustainable sources of power.
Covering a timeline of more than 130 years, will look back with pride at the progress the automotive industry has made, while also looking ahead to what’s next, whether that’s the continuing advancement in EV and hybrid tech, sustainable fuels or hydrogen.
This theme of celebration will be the central pillar of all aspects of the Festival of Speed, from the action on the Hill, to the exhibits within Future Lab presented by Randox and Electric Avenue.
We have showcased many of the more exciting technologies in recent years. Sebastian Vettel drove his 1992 Williams FW14B and 1993 McLaren MP4/8 on sustainable fuels during the 2023 event, while the Festival has also become a leading platform for manufacturers to showcase their latest electric and hybrid vehicles.
Alongside the Festival of Speed, the 2024 Goodwood Revival will also be delivering a landmark moment in motorsport, as the Motor Circuit will host an entire weekend of historic racing using sustainable fuels.
The central theme of the 2024 Festival of Speed will be supplemented throughout the weekend by several other major celebrations for Niki Lauda, the legendary Shadow team, Joest Racing, and many more.
