Ferrari has announced that it will be bringing a grand total of six brand new cars to the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard as part of a 26-strong list of road and racing legends from the Prancing Horse.
The Ferrari Roma Spider, 812 Competizione A, SF90 XX Spider, SP-8, 499P Modificata, and 296 Challenge will all be making their UK dynamic debuts on the famous Goodwood Hill in July during what will be a busy weekend for the Italian marque.
As part of the Supercar Run that will be taking to the Hill on all four days of the Festival of Speed, the Roma Spider is the new drop-top version of Ferrari’s long-standing entry-level coupé. It’s powered by a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 620PS (456kW) at up to 7,500rpm, and makes a noise that’s going to sound even better with that roof down.
At the more exclusive end of the scale, the Ferrari 812 Competizione Aperta is a special edition model based on the 812 Superfast, with a stunning targa top design that we can’t wait to see in the metal. We’re looking forward to hearing that naturally aspirated V12, too when it flies up the Hill.
Upping the ante yet further, the Ferrari SF90 XX Spider is another convertible, this time an open top variant of the SF90 XX Stradale, Ferrari’s fastest ever road car. Performance in the Spider has been boosted to 1,030PS (758kW) and supplemented by new aerodynamics headlined by a fixed rear spoiler.
The Ferrari SP-8 meanwhile is a car you will not want to miss in action. Built as part of Ferrari’s One-Off series, it was commissioned by a private client and put together from the chassis of an F8 Spider. It’s not a convertible, because it actually has no roof at all – here’s hoping the weather behaves for the driver of this very special looking car.
To top off an already mouth-watering list, Ferrari is bringing two more very exciting cars to the Festival of Speed. Firstly, the 499P Modificata, a derivation of the two-time Le Mans-winning Ferrari 499P that offers ordinary people (with a lot of money) the chance to experience what it’s like to drive a Le Mans Hypercar. It’s a track-only car that has been stripped of the shackles of professional motorsport regulations. This thing could absolutely fly up the Hill.
And finally, we have the Ferrari 296 Challenge, the latest track variant of the 296 supercar that remains one of the very greatest cars you can buy today. The 296 Challenge takes things a step further as an offering for the Corse Clienti programme. It’s powered by a 700PS (515kW) V6 engine and develops an incredible 870kg of downforce at 155mph, which we’re sure must feel absolutely epic from behind the wheel.
It's a whopping line-up, stacked with unmissable cars that are bound to add an extra layer of splendour to events on the Hill at the 2024 Festival of Speed. And those are just the debutants; Ferrari will of course have a major presence throughout all four days with a selection of motorsport legends from Formula 1, Le Mans and more.
The Ferrari 312 T will be recognisable to many as the car that Niki Lauda drove to the F1 world championship in 1975. In further good news, if you missed the Ferrari 640 in all its V12 glory in action at the 81st Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport earlier this year, then you’ll have another chance to see it at the Festival of Speed. Fans of F1’s V10 era will also be appeased by the Ferrari F2001 that Michael Schumacher took to championship glory, while the modern V6 hybrid era will be represented in the form of the Ferrari SF70H.
Other headline showpieces include the Ferrari F40 LM, 333SP, FXX-K Evo and Daytona SP3, which will all be in action on the Hill.
You can see all these Ferraris and more at the Festival of Speed from 11th -14th July. Only Thursday general admission tickets remain, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday tickets now sold out, although a limited number of hospitality packages for all days are still available. Tickets and packages can be purchased from £70.
