A prototype of Polestar’s flagship four-door GT, the 5, will be making its debut at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard next week. The Swedish marque has revealed it’ll be taking to the Hill alongside the now-revealed 2 BST edition 270, the hotter version of its small executive EV.
The cars will be making their Hill runs in the First Glance batch and will also be on display in the First Glance Paddock. As we can see from these images, what Festival-goers will be seeing up close and personal is a highly advanced car in the midst of its extensive development programme. We see the evolution of the Precept to the production Polestar 5 in the silhouette, but details are hidden not just behind camouflage, but by mule bodywork up front. If you want another look at the car that is inspiring the Polestar 5, the Precept Concept will also be in attendance, on display on the Polestar stand alongside the electric roadster concept and another BST edition 270.
While we won’t be seeing the production car in full, we’ll for sure get a glimpse of its potential performance. Polestar hasn’t been shy in the past about its prototypes getting a good thrashing up the Hill and the same should be the case for the Polestar 5 Prototype.
“Goodwood is our favourite place to show our cars in an enthusiast environment,” said Polestar CEO, Thomas Ingenlath.
“This year, we are thrilled to showcase Polestar 5 going up the hill! Our UK R&D team is doing an amazing job developing the car, and we are proud to be able to highlight their hard work at this early stage.”
