Michael Dunlop, the most successful rider in Isle of Man TT history, will be celebrated in a major way at the 2024 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard.
He headlines the Isle of Man TT contingent on Saturday 13th July with a ride up the Goodwood Hill as part of the ‘King of the Mountain’ class at 11:40, joined by fellow TT heroes including 23-time winner John McGuinness and 14-time winner Peter Hickman.
Dunlop will then head to Goodwood House for a special balcony moment at 12:20 as we celebrate his truly incredible and record-breaking career.
The Northern Irishman made his Isle of Man TT debut in 2007 and won his first race two years later in the Supersport Class. He followed that up with further wins in 2011 and 2012, before achieving his full potential in 2013 with four wins and a second place.
From then on he has been a prolific performer, with his four wins in 2024 taking his overall tally to 29. That carries him above his uncle Joey Dunlop to become the most successful rider in the road race’s history.
In anticipation of his arrival at the Festival of Speed, The Duke of Richmond said: “The Festival of Speed has long been known as the place to see some of the biggest names in motorsport and I’m delighted that, just a few weeks after he claimed his record-breaking 29th Isle of Man TT victory, Michael will be making his debut at the event.
“Fans will be able to celebrate his superlative achievements with a balcony moment on Saturday, while an array of TT winners and bikes will take to the Hill across the weekend.”
