Ford is bringing a veritable stampede of pony power to the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, with a full three new Mustang variants debuting. Its new GT3 contender will be joining the latest hottest road-going Mustang, the Dark Horse, for global dynamic debuts on the Hill. They will then be joined by a mysterious new Mustang variant that’s due to be revealed in the First Glance paddock at midday on Friday 14th July.
Perhaps a clue to that car’s nature is the fact that Darren Palmer, vice president of Ford’s Electric Vehicle programs, is commenting on it: “Mustang is a car that can stir emotions like no other, and the Goodwood Festival of Speed hosts some of the most passionate car fans in the world, so to unveil our newest member of the Mustang family here is a match made in heaven.”
Joining the mega Mustang trio will be a number of other road and racing machines donning the Blue Oval. The latest all-electric Explorer gets its global dynamic debut on the Hill, where the latest M-Sport Ford Puma will be stretching its legs too, in celebration of 50 years of the World Rally Championship.
It’ll be driven by M-Sport boss Malcolm Wilson, Adrien Fourmaux and rally ace Ott Tänak, with the latter two also joining Harry Tincknell in the mystery Mustang. Tincknell will also be responsible for blasting the new Mustang GT3 up the Hill over the course of the weekend.
We can’t wait to see everything Ford has in store for us at the 2023 Festival of Speed.
