The Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard is the annual celebration of, you guessed it, all things fast – and we're not just referring to the cars. As with every edition, the 2019 Festival will bring a host of incredibly accomplished drivers to the historic Goodwood Hillclimb, and set them loose in their respective vehicles.
And with just one week to go until the Festival, it’s time to release some of the star-studded line-up.
All leaders in their respective disciplines, this year’s list includes everyone from racing champions to sidecar racers, trials riders to professional drifters.
Fifteen-time Motorcycle Grand Prix World Champion Giacomo Agostini will head up the motorcycle cohort on a classic MV Agusta, with his modern day counterpart, Casey Stoner, a two-time MotoGP champion, also taking part.
Meanwhile, TT stars Brit John McGuinness and Jenny Tinmouth will join the grid. McGuinness, a 23-time Isle of Man TT winner, will alternate between a Norton TT bike and Mugen Shinden during the event, while Tinmouth – the fastest lady around the Isle of Man TT course – will ride her beloved Honda CBR1000RR
From the world of Formula 1 we'll have current drivers Daniel Ricciardo, Valtteri Bottas, Lando Norris, Carlos Sainz Jr. and Alexander Albon, as well as Mercedes reserve driver Esteban Ocon.
Alongside current talent you'll find Rubens Barrichello behind the wheel of the Brawn BGP-001 he raced alongside Jenson Button in the 2009 F1 season, the car that won Brawn the constructor's title and Button the drivers' title. You'll see a number of F1 legends, including Rene Arnoux, Emerson Fittipaldi, Mika Hakkinen, Nick Heidfeld, Damon Hill, Jochen Mass, Ray Mallock, Karun Chandhok and, of course, Sir Jackie Stewart. F1 design heroes Adrian Newey and Ross Brawn will also be in attendance.
'Mr Le Mans' himself, Tom Kristensen, a nine-time winner of the legendary endurance race, will drive both a Audi DTM and NASCAR vehicle, while three-time Le Mans and five-time 12 Hours of Sebring winner, Dindo Capello, will also be present. Other GT and sportscar drivers include Richard Attwood, Derek Bell, Frank Biela, David Brabham, Darren Turner, Romain Dumas, Jacky Ickx, Jackie Oliver and Guy Smith.
Not to forget the Forest Rally Stage, two-time World Rallycross champion and 2003 World Rally Champion, Petter Solberg, will be joined by five-time World Rally Champion Sébastien Ogier in a Citroën C3 WRC. You'll also see Elfyn Evans, Rauno Aaltonen, Stig Blomqvist and Juha Hankkunen.
And finally, legendary gymkhana driver and professional rally and rallycross driver Ken Block will bring his rebellious style to Goodwood in his Hoonitruck and Ford RS Cossie. Remember, you can win a ride with Ken in his Hoonitruck!
