Gallery: Best moments from FOS day two

24th June 2022
Andrew Willis

With the dust and tyre smoke barely having time to settle on day two of the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, we’ve pulled together some of our favourite images from our intrepid, and slightly sun-burnt team of photographers for your viewing pleasure.

Far from being an easy task, with a day so completely chock-full of moments, some of Friday’s highlights included Goodwood Hillclimb runs that celebrated 75 years of Ferrari and 40 years of Group C racing. We enjoyed an elegant and gasp-inducing blue sky air display from the RAF Red Arrows, an exuberant demonstration from Swedish legend Kenny Brack in a WRC Ford Focus, and some tasty runs in the timed Shootout practice with a tantalising 41.2 second effort by Max Chilton in the McMurtry Spéirling.

Closing the day with a very special, top-secret, global launch of the Porsche 963 LMDh car that is set to make its competitive racing debut at the 2023 Rolex 24 at Daytona, with its eyes firmly set on taking top honours at Le Mans and the World Endurance Championship.

At the halfway point, Saturday and Sunday have plenty to live up to.
