Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival move to 2021

16th June 2020

Goodwood is very sorry to announce that the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard and Goodwood Revival will not take place in 2020 due to the social distancing measures required to fight the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Goodwood has always prided itself on creating the very best events and experiences available and, with the measures that are required to fight the virus remaining in place, it would not be possible to hold the Festival or Revival without severely compromising the experience for all involved.

Ticketholders for both events will be able to roll their tickets over to the 2021 dates if they are able to, with General Admission, Grandstand and Hospitality tickets all valid and with no risk of price rises. Those who would not be able to attend or wish to claim a refund instead can find out more information here.

As you can imagine, losing both the Summer’s major events as well as the 78th Members’ Meeting from the 2020 calendar has severely compromised Goodwood’s finances. This has put the future of all Goodwood’s events, in their current form, in doubt.

As a result, Goodwood is asking for our fans – the most passionate in the world – to help it plan and continue to offer those world renowned events in the format we all love. To do this, the Goodwood Supporters' Association (GSA) is to be resurrected, over a quarter of a century after it helped the resurrection of motorsport at Goodwood. It is hoped that the new incarnation will now help keep motorsport at Goodwood.

Those who wish to help keep the spirit of Goodwood motorsport alive are invited to make a one-off contribution to become lifetime Goodwood Supporters. In return they will receive a range of exclusive benefits that include; a GSA lapel pin, a tree planted in the woodland planned for the area northwest of the circuit, the opportunity to have their name permanently engraved at the Motor Circuit or within the Festival of Speed parkland, and other unique options. Further details on the Goodwood Supporters’ Association can be found here.

Speaking about the relaunch The Duke of Richmond said: “For a business like ours, which is all about bringing people together to enjoy the things they love, social distancing has had a catastrophic impact on our ability to operate. We have, of course, placed health above all else, but now we begin to face the implications of the ‘new normal’ as the government attempts to balance the demands of health and the economy.

“The new GSA will be vital in keeping this dream alive. Without the help of GRRC Members rallying together as a community and becoming part of the GSA, we will not be able to preserve Goodwood’s unique, intimate version of the sport we all love.”
