The Iron Dames will return to the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard in 2024 for what will be the team’s third consecutive appearance at Goodwood’s showpiece motorsport event.
The all-female racing team once again performed brilliantly at the Le Mans 24 Hours in June to finish fifth in the LMGT3 class with its new Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2 car, and we’ll be celebrating Iron Dames’ remarkable ambition for progress and improved recognition of women in motorsport.
It’s a project that fits perfectly into this year’s theme at the Festival of Speed, metaphorically at least. ‘Horseless to Hybrid: Revolutions in Power’ will recognise the development of cars and propulsion from the very earliest years of steam and combustion power to today’s quest for cleaner and sustainable fuel, but the Iron Dames represent and continue to push the progress of acceptance and inclusivity of women in motorsport.
Iron Dames Le Mans Cup drivers Célia Martin and Karen Gaillard will each have their turn to send the Huracan up the famous Goodwood Hill over the course of the four-day event. It’s a car that, as a team, they have taken to a pole position and a podium finish so far in 2024.
Also in action will be Iron Dames rally stars Sarah Rumeau and Julie Amblard, who will both be showcasing their skills in their Ford Fiesta Rally2 car on the spectacular Forest Rally Stage for the first time.
The 2024 Festival of Speed takes place on 11th-14th July. Only Thursday general admission tickets remain, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday tickets now sold out, although a limited number of hospitality packages for all days are still available. Tickets and packages can be purchased from £70.
