Limited MC20s and GranCabrio Folgore headline Maserati’s 2024 Festival of Speed

Maserati will be out in force at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard. The presence of such a historic marque is always felt across the event, from the line-up of historic grand prix and sportscars to showcases of the latest greatest road cars. Let’s take a look at what the Trident is up to this year.

The big celebration for Maserati this year is the 20th anniversary of the MC12 hypercar and its sprawling success in sportscar racing. In tribute to the racers will be two limited-edition MC20s, Icona and Leggenda, inspired by the MC12 road car and the Vitaphone GT1 car respectively.

Both will be making their world debut throughout the weekend. Alongside them will be an example of the ultra-limited MC12 Versione Corse, a track-only special of which just 12 were produced. The MC12 of course was related closely genetically to the Ferrari Enzo, which never got the chance to prove itself in the heat of endurance racing battle like the MC12 did.

From a screaming V12 to the stunning silence of an EV that could out-accelerate any petrol-powered Maserati supercar, the GranCabrio Folgore. With three electric motors and an 800-volt electrical architecture, both the GranTurismo and GranCabrio Folgore have the power to match even the track-spec MC12. The old screamer puts out 755PS (555kW), the Folgores pack a scarcely believable 750PS (552kW), though that’s all they can put out at any one time. The maximum power combined of each of the motors is actually 1,200PS (883kW). The electric age for you.

The Trident’s new all-electric drop-top grand tourer will be making its UK debut in Electric Avenue at this year’s Festival of Speed as the world’s first full four-seater convertible EV.

The 2024 Festival of Speed takes place on 11th-14th July. Only Thursday general admission tickets remain, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday tickets now sold out, although a limited number of hospitality packages for all days are still available. Tickets and packages can be purchased from £70.
