Lotus has announced what it’ll be up to at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard when it opens on 13th July. Needless to say, the burgeoning British marque is going all out, with the world debut of the four-cylinder Lotus Emira joining the Eletre all-electric SUV on the Hill, alongside the Evija all-electric hypercar.
The Eletre, Emira and Evija will all be present and correct on Lotus’s incredible stand too, where Lotus enthusiasts will be able to get up close and personal with all the latest models and be shown around them by experts. There will be a live Q&A with Lotus ambassador and F1 World Champion, Jenson Button and he’ll be sharing the stand with the team from The Smoking Tire for a live recording of their podcast.
Also on the Hill over the course of the weekend will be an incredible ‘Lotus Moment’. Once a day, celebrating the marque’s 75th anniversary, grands prix and sportscars from throughout its past and present will come together for a parade.
Twice a day the Eletre and Emira will be in the First Glance class, while the Evija will be unleashed in the Michelin Supercar Run. One not to miss on any day, but especially Saturday, when Jenson Button will be the man behind the wheel, commanding its 2,000PS (1,471kW) and no doubt getting another feel for the next hypercar to join his collection.
“In our 75th year we’ve got an amazing Goodwood Festival of Speed line-up,” said Mike Johnstone, Lotus Group Vice-President and CCO.
“The current range is a fitting tribute to everything that’s come before, and this is such a great venue for enthusiasts to see our cars and learn about the transformation of Lotus from our knowledgeable product experts.”
