Mad Mike has unveiled his new Lamborghini Huracan drift car, which will make its international debut at next month's Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard.
In a departure from his usual Mazda-powered madness, Formula Drift Japan champion Mike Whiddett has partnered with the Italian manufacturer to produce the eye-catching Huracan.
Based around the Huracan's standard 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine, with an aftermarket exhaust, the model wears a unique camouflage (painted, not wrapped) Liberty Walk wide-body which, if the rumours are to be believed, Whiddett painted and air-brushed much of himself.
It rolls on Rotiform wheels, deep dish Lamborghini Countach-style at the rear and 19-inch Aerodisks up front, allowing more steering lock clearance for, in Mike’s own words, “when we want to kick this thing sideways”. Each wheel features an AirREX air suspension package, which allows it to sink to the floor at the touch of a button.
Whiddett will be driving his drift Huracan up the hill in just two weeks’ time, as well as performing in the new-for-2019 Festival of Speed Arena, a space that will showcase some of the best drift and stunt drivers in the world.
And in case you needed reminding why Mad Mike has become such a fan favourite at the Festival in recent years, watch his Hill run from 2017 in the ‘RADBUL’, a twin-turbo Mazda MX5 26B 4Rotor…
