Lanzante has revealed a pair of road-going Porsche 935s it’s been working on, alongside a number of its other modified models, at the 2024 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard.
The 935 is based on one of the 77 examples of Porsche 935 – the car the company revealed at the Rennsport Reunion in 2019. The 935 of today shares its internals with the 911 GT2 RS which generates 710PS (522kW) from its 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six.
Comprehensive work was needed to convert the car for road use. There’s a new suspension setup, new wheels, a parking brake and headlights sympathetically faired into its bodywork to look like air vents. Both Lanzante’s cars are finished in iconic motorsport-derived paint jobs, the display car is resplendent Martini colours while Marlboro colours adorn the car going up the Hill.
Lanzante has plenty more on show, including a McLaren P1 HDK, a recommissioned McLaren Speedtail with new bodywork and a unique paint job, as well as a trio of Gulf-liveried GTR models – the McLaren F1 GTR, P1 GTR and Senna GTR.
Lanzante’s latest version of the 1980s Formula 1-engined TAG Turbo model will be alongside these. The ninth of 11 cars is built to honour John Watson, driver of TAG-Porsche power in a McLaren during the 1983 and 1985 seasons.
A newly developed, lightweight and enhanced version of the classic 911 TAG Turbo, called TAG Championship, will also make its global debut. The car on show is just one of three paying homage to Alain Prost and wearing his helmet colours.
