As well as the venue where the world’s greatest racing cars and drivers meet, the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard is a hive of roadgoing hypercar action. All of the greatest performance cars in the world get their debuts at the Festival, including the fastest, most exclusive machinery there is. We count down 11 of the best from the last 20 years.
We open in 2003 with a slidey Porsche Carrera GT Hill run, as the howl of that stunning V10 spills throughout the Sussex estate. Then we leap ahead ten years, to when the McLaren P1 made its warbling V8 debut, with a scarcely-believable turn of pace. Then we have the Carrera GT’s successor, the 918, giving the Hill a go. Fun fact, this 918 was a verification prototype, with non-production headlights and rear lights borrowed from a 911. We then follow with the incredible Apollo IE, Bugatti Chiron, Pagani Huayra, Ferrari Enzo, Lamborghini Centenario and much more. Enough hypercars to fill a Sheikh’s display cabinet…
