We've seen this recipe before. Take the smallest Aston Martin of the range, slot the biggest engine available under the bonnet et voilà. Yes, the V12 Vantage is back.
The old V12 Vantage was a stunner, with a 6.0-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine and 510PS (375kW) under the bonnet from the DBS. It was also a regular series production model, built in the thousands. This, the new generation of Aston Martin V12 Vantage is something very different, not just because it has a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 but because there will only be 333 examples. Whoever gets one will consider themselves very lucky indeed, because as well as a shouty exhaust and a new carbon-fibre bonnet, bumpers, splitter, rear wing and sills, they'll have 700PS (515kW) and 753Nm (557lb ft) under their right foot.
Whoever was driving the car at the 2022 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard was certainly having a good time, hustling their way up the Hill with the windows halfway down to make the most of the V12 soundtrack.
