Every year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, the Formula 1 cars are always among the highlights of the weekend, because there is simply no alternative to watching the fastest racing cars in the world flying up the famous Hill.
In many cases, they’re also among the most beautiful cars ever made, especially the likes of the Williams FW14B, which delivered some of the coolest images of the whole Festival as Sebastian Vettel got the thing rotating on a dime outside the house.
Then there’s the noise. We don’t care if it’s a Cosworth DFV in the back of a Brabham BT44B, BRM’s V16, or the screaming V10 of a Williams FW19 or McLaren MP4/14, there are very few things in the world that can match the sounds of F1 through the ages.
Even when they’re being driven at a pretty modest pace, they just evoke such emotion, memories of legendary drivers and teams, the likes of Senna, Schumacher, Prost, Stewart, Häkkinen. We love seeing these cars at Goodwood, and we can’t wait to see what magical machinery turns up to put on a show this summer.
