The 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard was a proper monster. Birthday celebrations for Le Mans, Porsche, McLaren Racing and more were interspersed with the most new car debuts we’ve yet seen, at what is becoming a defacto motorshow event on the yearly motoring calendar.
So yes, Thursday is a massively important day as new metal takes to the Hill, which in the case of some is the first time they turn a wheel. We saw incredible supercars, from the Lamborghini Revuelto, Pagani Utopia, McLaren Solus GT and Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider, to sportscars like the Porsche Boxster Spyder RS, MG Cyberster and Ford Mustang Dark Horse.
Properly special projects from Singer and MG in the form of the Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer DLS Turbo project and EX4 one-off prototype made special appearances too. They were also joined by fan favourites from last year including the Pagani Huayra R and Mercedes-AMG One.
So while Thursday doesn’t feature the full line-up of incredible racing machinery of the rest of the Festival of Speed weekend, it is full of special moments, as cars make their public appearances for the first ever time. Of course, we do have some very special racing machinery taking to the Hill, but you’ll have to watch to see which ones…
