The sun was shining over the second day of the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, and racing cars old and new were firing their way up the Hill. The supercars on Thursday might have been driven fast, but when the drivers on Friday heard the phrase “timed runs” they really got the hammer down.
We had Karun Chandhok in the Wiliams FW08 F1 car, Sébastien Loeb in the dune-crushing BRX Hunter Dakar monster, a glorious BMW M1 Procar, a bonkers McLaren 720S GT3X and so much more. The fastest time of the day? Justin Law in a Jaguar XJR-12D with a 46.9-second run. And that was his first fast run. Goodness. Roll on more runs…
