The Timed Shootout at this year’s Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard was an absolute breath of fresh air. After two years of silence on the Goodwood Hill, speed machines spanning over a century set to work setting times. As a competition, it was an absolute riot, too.
We weren’t sure what cars would come out on top as fortunes changed with the weather conditions. As we got into the top ten cars, dark clouds loomed, threatening any shot at glory for rear-driven machines. Further down the running, it was so epic to see everything from the 1960s Ferrari ‘Breadvan’, to an all-electric Mustang Mach-e GT, to a century-old Mercedes 60hp, to a 1989 Sauber-Mercedes C9 prototype racer. Speed and Style are back on the Goodwood Hill in this full replay of the Timed Shootout.
