The Rovanperä and Ogier editions of the GR Yaris are the latest versions added to the range of which just 100 will be made of each. In appearances, they are quite strikingly different, with the Rovanperä car’s WRC-inspired scheme and swan-neck wing looking very out there by comparison to the satin grey finish of Ogier’s. Small tells around the French Champion’s car includes a French flag, visible next to the badge at the front and the larger, if more conventional wing.
On the inside, they also get special 4WD control nobs and modes, with ‘Push Seb.’ and ‘Push Kalle’ in there respectively. The former gets a ‘Morizo’ mode and the latter gets a ‘Donut’ mode. Each are modes tailored to the respective driver’s tastes. Kalle mode, for instance, uses the rear differential to “allow aggressively swinging out the car’s rear”. Their words are entirely appropriate for Kalle who is also a fully paid-up drifter.
We don’t see Rovanperä attempt any sideways antics on his way up the Hill, but both special editions and both drivers slingshot their way up with some impressive pace.
