Some drivers do their job by the book at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard. “Get it to the end in one piece,” we expect a lot of the owners/manufacturers most likely say. Well, either that isn’t what McLaren say to their drivers, or Kenny Bräck has a creative interpretation of “taking it easy in the wet”.
If you saw it, you’ll know what we’re talking about. Bräck took the McLaren Elva by the scruff up the ill, forcing all 815PS (608kW) through the rear tyres unsuccessfully onto the wet Hillclimb, resulting in it snaking and slithering around right on the edge. He did a more convincing impression of a Driftkhana entrant in the roofless Elva than some of the actual drifters. Of course, it’s Kenny Bräck, so the hay bales were left well enough alone as we all watched on in awe. The man, the myth, the legend.
