It's the end of an era. The Lamborghini Aventador is bowing out after a solid 11-year run at the top of the Lamborghini tree, and this is its final farewell: the Lamborghini Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae.
This will likely be the last big V12 Lamborghini to go without any sort of hybrid system, which explains why the company has decided to wind the engine up to a colossal 780PS (574kW), making it the most powerful Aventador ever. It's also the fastest, with a top speed of 221mph, with 600 cars due to be made (they're all sold), split between 350 coupes and 250 roadsters.
Was it doing 221mph on the Hill? No, because it was very, very wet indeed on the opening day of the 2022 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard. But we're glad we've been able to see it, hear it, and say goodbye. Thank you Aventador, you've been fantastic.
