In a special moment, Juan Pablo Montoya was reunited with his Williams FW26, an experience he shared with his son Sebastián, who also drove up the Hill. We got to see the 1982 Williams FW08 – Keke Rosberg’s championship-winning car – take to the Hill each day of the event, driven by current drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, as well as Team Principal James Vowles and F1 Academy driver Lia Block.
The Festival of Speed may have marked the first time Block drove an F1 car, or Vowles’ first time in a Williams racing car since taking up his role, but for Sargeant it was just another day at the office, as this dual-perspective video Williams shared demonstrates.
The split screen looks back showing Logan front on and gives a POV view of him driving, showing us the force his body is under, particularly from behind as his head is bashed about by the G-forces. From the front, however, he looks calm as anything breezing past the grandstand, making light work of his quick trip up the Hill, albeit looking a little exposed in the cockpit underneath those grey skies.
