Porsche’s new endurance racer made its global debut at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard on Friday evening, closing out the second day of this year’s Festival with one of the most exciting moments of the weekend so far.
The reveal of this new LMDh car signals the start of the countdown to Porsche, joined by Peugeot, Ferrari and others, competing in the Hypercar class in both IMSA and WEC. That’s right, that means this car will be competing in both the Daytona 24 Hours and Le Mans 24 Hours in 2023.
Our first reaction is one of excitement and anticipation. That 4.6-litre twin-turbo V8 roars at a satisfying volume, and absolutely looks the part, too. It’s safe to say we can’t wait to see this Porsche 963 lining up at Le Mans next year.
