The Lexus LFA, with it's screaming 4.8-litre V10, is an absolute cult hero for internet car fans. In real life it was expensive and not produced in great numbers, but also a great car to see, drive and hear – but online it has transcended normal car culture to become one of the automotive world's mythical beasts of legend.
But, did you know Lexus made a fully-homologated racing GT version of the LFA? There's a good chance you didn't, because it didn't race a lot, but it did. It raced in VLN and the Nürburgring 24 hours, with very little success. But in 2011 it made an appearance on our stage – attacking the Hill with no lack of gusto during the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard. The Lexus LFA GT might not go down in the history books as one of the world's most amazing racing cars, but you can guarantee it'd be on the bedroom wall of any car-mad kid growing up at the time.
