Video: Smoking screaming Lotus Emira GT4 FOS Hill run

If you’ve been watching media of the new Lotus Emira recently – including of course its runs here at the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard – and are wondering why there isn’t a bit more noise, fear not. The race version is here to scream bloody V6 murder at you.

The Emira GT4 got its Hill debut at Goodwood today making a little bit more smoke than perhaps Lotus hoped. Don’t worry, it’s not burst a pipe and it’s not dropping any fluids. We hear it was tyre rub in the wheelarch, which is no biggy. Even with tyre smoke ever present, we were constantly distracted watching it, by the sound of that howling V6, untethered by roadgoing emissions and noise calming devices. It’s an absolute screamer and we’ll be sure to head out of the office to catch one of its runs in person over the course of the weekend.
