While the Ford Supervan 4.2 of Romain Dumas was trailing the Project Midnight Subaru of Scott Speed in Friday's Timed Shootout running, the Hillclimb and Le Mans veteran fought back on Saturday, if only to just about clinch the fastest time of the day. The Supervan’s final time of 45.0 seconds was only just about clear of Speed’s 45.1-second fastest run.
The dark horse of the bunch was Michael Lyons in his Gurney Eagle. In rapidly deteriorating conditions he managed a 47.3-second run to put himself third in qualifying. Travis Pastrana trailed in the Subaru Huckster, as did James Wallis in his 992 GT3 Cup.
The star of the Shootout runs so far has been Asteir Raphael, who's been piloting as much as driving his Alpine A110 Pikes Peak special up the Hill. He’s also found himself up in sixth on the fastest times, so he’s definitely in the mix, conditions depending. Watch in full the ten fastest runs of Saturday, in anticipation for today’s timed crescendo. We can’t wait to see who comes out on top.
