How can roadgoing Lamborghinis get any more extreme without simply just throwing racing bodywork at them? Well, it seems they can’t, on evidence of the slots, vents and wings all over the new Huracan STO, making its debut at the 2021 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard.
See, the Huracan STO makes very little secret of the Super Trofeo influence in its new-found aggressive look. The front end, in fact, has been entirely redesigned, with the race-style vents being joined by a race-style front-hinge system as a nod to the Miura. Inspired by the racer are the broadened haunches with their strakes, new engine cover and the snorkel intake. The wing is bespoke to the STO and it all adds up to some real downforce and real performance, too.
The engine remains familiar but no less spectacular: a 5.2-litre V10 engine producing 640PS (470kW). Unlike previous hardcore V10 models, that power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels. Is this one of the most outrageous supercars at the 2021 Festival?
