We’re close to one week out before the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard opens its doors to excited motorsport lovers that were, until now, short on their in-person supply. So for this morning’s motoring meditation, we thought we’d throw it back to a simpler time.
You find us in 2015, strapped to the helmet of a Mr Mad Mike Whiddett as he lines up to unleash the carnage and fury of his tire-shredding four-rotor RX-7 on the Goodwood Hill. Chuntering away like a swarm of our Revival two-strokes all in one car, Mike lets her rip. Just when you think there can’t be any more revs, that it can’t get any smokier or more sideways, he sends it into the realms beyond. The Goodwood Estate flies past in a flash, first through the windscreen then the side windows, the threat of the bales and the flint wall ever-present...
