Williams Racing will be out in force at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, with a number of famous faces and cars for fans to get up close and personal with, including Sebastien Vettel, current Williams F1 drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, Jamie Chadwick and 2009 world driver’s champion Jenson Button.
In terms of cars, the hot shoes will be getting a go in the race-winning Williams FW08C, with which Keke Rosberg secured his title in 1982. Chadwick will be climbing into the DFV-powered machine on Friday, with Logan Sargeant driving on Saturday and Alex Albon taking the hot seat on Sunday. In spite of only winning one race in 1982 – the Swiss Grand Prix at Dijon Prinoix – the consistency of both car and driver in scoring good points throughout the season was enough to leave Keke on top come the end.
Joining the FW08 will of course be Sebastian Vettel, driving Nigel Mansell’s 1992 FW14B, running throughout both Saturday and Sunday exclusively on sustainable fuel. Also on the Hill will be the FW19, a car driven by Jaques Villeneuve on the way to both the drivers’ and constructors’ championship in 1997.
In celebration of the 1993 constructors’ and drivers’ championship wins, Alain Prost’s Williams FW15C will also be on static display for all to come and see. It will sit alongside the latest Williams FW45 show car, which will feature a fan-voted livery designed in the Williams Racing x Gulf competition.
You can have your say in that competition now, to try and help get your favorite livery onto the car. It will represent the debut of the livery that will also be used on the FW45 race cars during the Singapore, Japan and Qatar Grands Prix.
