It’s barely 7 o’clock here at the Goodwood Motor Circuit but the site is abuzz with excitement for the beginning of the Goodwood Revival. As the cars slumber under covers and layers of dew, it won’t be long before they’re spluttering to life for the first time as the weekend gets underway.
The paddocks have some extra special ‘40s, ‘50s and ‘60s gems this year, with a demonstration grid dedicated entirely to Ferrari and its 75th Anniversary, with swathes of 250s of all shapes and sizes, F1 machinery from across the marque’s first three decades and more. Alongside the Ferraris, we’re celebrating Graham Hill and his 1962 F1 World Championship, which he secured in his wonderful BRM P578. That, among many other significant cars from his varied career, will be taking to the circuit.
There’s the usual selection of big banger V8 sportscars, the svelte GTs of the Stirling Moss and the musclebound TT racers. We’ve a paddock chock full of MGBs if that’s your cup of tea, with many uncovered and ready to go. Always eager, those MG folks, as are we for one of our favourite weekends of the year.
