Friday is the curtain-raiser for the Revival, and a first opportunity to see both the cars and the outfits in full swing.

The event officially opened with a parade of over 100 Minis. The marque celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, and an on-track convoy of a century of one of Goodwood’s golden era’s most enduring cars seems like an appropriate way to mark the occasion. Another on-track parade featured the cars of Cooper, Britain’s leading formula car manufacturer at the start of the 1960s.

A further anniversary marked with Minis is taking place in the Earls Court Motor Show presented by Sky Cinema. It’s 50 years since the release of The Italian Job, which starred a trio of Mini Cooper S models as unlikely but nimble getaway vehicles.

You’ll have seen plenty of action on the Goodwood Motor Circuit itself too, as practice got underway for the races over the weekend. It wasn’t all plain sailing for all competitors though.

Of course the big feature on Friday is also the last: the Kinrara Trophy. This race features highly desirable pre-1963 GT cars that rank among the most expensive road cars in the world, so the grid is always spectacular - as is the racing!

There’ll be more action to come over the following two days. We can’t wait…
