The Glover Trophy at the Goodwood Revival is perhaps our staple Formula 1 race, with the 1.5-litre era of the early 1960s coinciding with the height of our original racing period. These slender, arachnid-like machines represented a reduction in power at the time, though it was a period of great innovation.
A grid of BRMs, Lotuses, Brabhams, Coopers and a solitary Ferrari gathered to fill our Motor Circuit with their high-revving howl once again. The elegance of these cars is eminent, their slender forms with sprawling wishbones, dampers, springs and uprights glinting in the autumn light as they flex at pace.
