Revive & Thrive is at the heart of the Goodwood Revival

The Revive & Thrive ethos is central to the Goodwood Revival, encouraging us all to restore, repair and re-wear.  From fashion to motoring memorabilia, the Revive & Thrive hub is the place to be to enjoy all things vintage.

Located to the left of the entrance tunnel of the Motor Circuit, one of the first things we spotted on our visit was a large mural instructing us that ‘cool cats go left’, so naturally that’s what we did. A wander around quickly reveals a haven for shoppers, with stall after stall of offerings to tempt the eye, from vintage dresses, coats and cravats, to luggage and broaches. All of which is set to a jaunty soundtrack and this, paired with a series of pit-stop places for food and drink, is certainly keeping spirits high under grey clouds.

Go through to the Arcade d’Aubigny, and you’re met with the highly popular Motul garage, where a 1945 Renault AHS 3 stands proudly outside adorned with hay bales as visitors queue to have their picture taken – it’s quite the hotspot. There’s plenty more besides, where Porsche and the Austin pedal cars of the Settrington Cup share the space with Betty’s Hair and Beauty Salon, a warm and inviting parlour aglow with the lights of the vanity mirrors, as the finishing touches are put to authentic period looks.

Neighbouring rows of bikes – both motorcycles and bicycles, and model car galleries are just the start of the automotive delights to see here, too. Vintage automobilia includes literature, silver signs and trinkets, and classic cars available for restoration like a 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MkIII.

And all of this before you arrive at the Revive & Thrive Village, where there is a whole host of activities to enjoy. We saw a heritage skills academy in action helping to keep these historic cars able to race. There was a straw plaiting workshop taking place to the music of Elvis Presley, and there were visitors making do and mending in the sewing studio in a pause between the talks and tutorials, which take place on the main stage and feature some of the biggest names in the vintage community.

The Revive & Thrive hub is simply a must-see part of your Goodwood Revival visit, as we celebrate bringing new life to treasures of years gone by.

The 2024 Goodwood Revival takes place on 6th-8th September. You can watch every moment of the historic motorsport action right here on our live stream!
