You’ll find some of the best action from the day as drivers and machines jostle to take prime spots on the podium. Our video begins with action from the RAC TT Celebration as Jake Hills Ace Cobra fends off the attacks of Tom Ingram’s TVR Griffith before Ingram dive bombs down the outside under braking to nip ahead of the unwieldy Cobra.
From there, we head to the F1 cars of the Glover Trophy and a two-car pass by Joe Colasacco before (via a selection of tanks from the commemoration of D-Day) taking in the hustle and bustle of the St. Mary’s Trophy presented by Motul as a pair of Minis combine to take on the straight line firepower of an MK2 Jaguar. There’s even more firepower again in the RAC TT Celebration, as Jake Hill’s AC Cobra makes another appearance out getting the jump on Alex Brundle’s Jaguar E-Type under a waved green flag.
But if you’re after rear dice, you don’t get dicier than a wet Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy as Michael Rutter on a 1954 Norton Velocette MSS tangles with Duncan Fitchett’s Norton Daytona Manx before powering out of his slipstream to take victory on the home straight. Fitchett was disqualified for a technical infringement.
A Ford Galaxie in the dry is about as far removed as you can get from a bike in the wet as we join Gregor Fiskin in a classic St. Mary’s Trophy dual, as he blows past Nick Smith’s Mini on the straight before struggling to hang on to his muscle car under braking.
The Freddie March Memorial Trophy is home to some of the prettiest-looking competitors you’ll see all weekend and also some of the tightest racing, as Richard Woolmer HWM Jaguar yields to Jake Hill in another WHM Jaguar.
Next, we head back to the Glover Trophy as Andy Middlehurst’s Lotus 25 keeps Joe Colasacco’s Ferrari 1512, before Adrian Newey lines up for a dream start for the RAC TT though ultimately yielding to the power of a pair of AC Cobras. Our penultimate snippet of classic-racing goodness rejoins Richard Woolmer’s Jaguar on the Freddie March Memorial Trophy, as he takes the lead after Jake Hill takes to the grass before his HWM Jaguar gets better traction out of the chicane and goes back into the lead.
Finally, our last clip from Sunday at the 2024 Revival comes from the wet of the Richmond & Gordon Trophies, as Andrew Willis slips his Maserati 250F around the inside of R Friedrichs in his 1960 Cooper-Climax T53. The weather may have been glum, but the action we were treated to on the concluding day of racing at the Motor Circuit was anything but.
