The Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy is that time of the Goodwood Revival when motorcycle fans get to take centre stage and revel in the sights of some truly delightful historic racing bikes. The 2022 Revival saw the return of the classic machines of the 1950s, from the likes of Truimph, Velocette and Norton Manx.
The traditional Le Mans-style start, where riders run across the grid, jump on the bike and get underway, is always a fantastic recipe for a dicey opening lap, but the action didn’t stop there as a field packed with legends from Superbikes, grand prix racing and road racing including Isle on Man TT legends Peter Hickman and John McGuinness, were all desperate to take top honours.
This 25-minute race was hotly contested throughout the field, with plenty of action to enjoy, so if you’re a fan of motorcycle racing, this should be the perfect to spend half an hour.
