There's something gloriously entertaining about a C-type duelling with the 'Battlebird'. Why? Because the C-type is on of Jaguar's most iconic racers, and the Battlebird is a big, V8-powered beast that was only ever designed to go fast in a straight line.
Battling it out in the final race of the 2019 Revival, the Freddie March Memorial Trophy, Bill Shepherd’s unique 1957 Ford Thunderbird, having been built to take on land-speed records, was exceptionally fast in a straight line. Martin Stretton’s beautiful 1952 Jaguar C-type, however, was lighter, more precise and far more comfortable with corners. Who would come out on top?
