Video: Masterfully sliding a Lister Knobbly

The straight-six Jaguar engine in his stunning Lister stopped when he lined up on the grid, and refused to start. Try as the 2019 Blancpain GT Pro-Am champion, and triple British GT runner-up, might, the Knobbly just wasn’t going to budge. So he suffered the indignity of being wheeled slowly into the pit-lane for his mechanics to have a go, while the rest of the field set off for another formation lap.

Luckily, his mechanics did fire the Lister up, but Keen was set now for a start in the pit-lane. Fortunately, rather than get him down, this seemed to fire the then 34-year-old up. Starting 28^th in a 20-minute race, by the time there was five minutes to go, he was second. We won’t spoil the outcome, but it was an incredible race. On his way, Keen set fastest lap after fastest lap, and the cameras were kind enough to capture one in almost its entirety (except for a small replay, which was of Keen taking fourth place, so we’ll forgive the director).
