The Michelin Super Run at Goodwood SpeedWeek presented by Mastercard featured a delicious selection of the finest exotic machinery 2020 has to offer.
If long-bonnetted stylish super cruisers are your bag, then you’re spoiled for choice. Will it be the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, Ferrari 812 GTS, Bentley Continental GT V8 or Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge? It’s like picking a favourite out of your own children.
If you’re fancying something a little more extreme then there was plenty of low-slung rarefied carbon-clad machinery to be gawped at. McLaren Elva, Ford GT, Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and Ferrari F8 Tributo joined more obscure entries from Zenvo with the TSR-S and Lanzante’s incredible road-converted McLaren Senna GTR prototype. That was a stunning thing, wearing Marlboro-esque colour schemes influenced by the late ‘80s and early ‘90s McLaren F1 cars.
Speaking of new debuts, the Lotus Evija going all-out on track in public for the first time was quite the treat. Who would have predicted that a major contender for supercar king at SpeedWeek would be all-electric? Audi debuted its special ‘Green Hell’ edition R8, too, celebrating its successes in racing at the Nürburgring. The 765LT and Elva made for some hot new McLaren tackle on display too. Only one question remains. Keys all in a basket, which are you taking for a lap of Goodwood?
