At most motor shows you go along to a giant conference centre somewhere near an international airport and see a new car under the bright lights of a manufacturer stand. At the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, however, the cars aren’t statues – they get thrown up the 1.16-mile Goodwood Hill at great, great speed, and very often just a tiny bit sideways.
That’s one of the reasons what people love the Festival, and why supercar manufacturers love Goodwood – what better way to show off the speed and sound of a new supercar than having it scream past a few hundred thousand car enthusiasts? And over the years there have been many, many supercars that have made their debuts, cars like the LaFerrari Aperta, the McLaren 600LT, the Aston Martin Vulcan, the Ford GT MkII and so on, which is what this video is all about. We’ve been spoilt, really.
And we’re about to get spoilt again at SpeedWeek presented by Mastercard, where more than a dozen cars will be making their world dynamic debuts. Will you be watching?
