This is our second video of the day that features a Ferrari battling a Lotus on track at Goodwood. But I don’t think any of you will get tired of such a rivalry. This time rather than the cutthroat world of ‘60s Formula 1, we’re in sportscars territory.
The Sussex Trophy is one of the most beautiful races at the Goodwood Revival, featuring stunning sportscars of the 1950s, the kind that raced in the World Sportscar Championship back in their day. The battle here is between two regular Goodwood race winners, Oliver Bryant in a Lotus 11 and Sam Hancock in a Ferrari 246S Dino.
Hancock is ahead, but Bryant’s nimble Lotus is harrying him for all its worth. It might just be that he knows he really wants a place on the podium, or it might be that Bryant knows that Phil Keen is hunting them down in his Lister Knobbly.
It’s brilliant isn’t it? And the Sussex Trophy will make its way to Goodwood SpeedWeek in October. You can join us online for the whole thing, and find out more here.
