Porsche is pretty much the undisputed king of endurance racing. Fifty years ago this year it won its first Le Mans 24 Hours title and in the intervening five decades it has added another 17 wins in the world’s greatest endurance race. That is why we are celebrating the anniversary with an awesome demonstration of Le Mans Porsches at Goodwood SpeedWeek presented by Mastercard.
But while it will be one of the first times such a collection of racing Porsches has been seen together, it’s not the first time several of these cars have been at Goodwood. So here, as a little teaser of what’s going to happen at SpeedWeek, are a few of our favourite Porsche Le Mans stars at Goodwood. In this video you’ll find some awesome stuff, like Richard Attwood absolutely hurling the very same 917K he won that first Le Mans for Porsche in 1970, the “Pink Pig” liveried 911 that won the GTE Pro class in 2018, even that most rare of beasts, the Porsche 936 is in there.
Hopefully that has whet your appetite for some proper Porsche power at SpeedWeek, so if you want to find out more about the demo (like how it’s going to end in dusk on Sunday night) then click here.
