You may well expect to see André Lotterer in an Audi, what with three Le Mans wins at the helm of their R18 and a pimped out 1984 Audi Sport Quattro as his daily driver…
But those aren’t the only Audis that Lotterer has a soft spot for! Here at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard the current Porsche Formula E driver took the Audi Nothelle-Kamei Coupe for a ride up the Goodwood Hill.
The sound of that iconic five-pot rasp swelled through the grounds of Goodwood up to a dizzying 8,500rpm. Interestingly, the car still retains the original 2.0-litre, 240bhp engine that was first assembled by Andre’s father, Henri, who collaborated with Audi Sport on its creation. Given only 70 days to build this this Group 2 beast from scratch, the outcome is rather impressive! André has spoken in interview about loving this Audi not for its speed, but for its ties to his family, for finding the old car’s limits and driving it right on the edge! He certainly didn’t disappoint here.
