The 78th Goodwood Members’ Meeting might not be taking place very soon, but that doesn’t mean that racing cars don’t need to stretch their legs, or that their drivers don’t need something to do.
So the 78MM test days have continued without break, and they are bringing a little bit more sunlight into all our lives during these difficult times.
On track for the final of the test days was some serious machinery. The kind of stuff that you can expect to see when the Members’ Meeting does eventually take place. Our good friend Bill Shepherd, a regular in big American things, was on track in a menagerie of American muscle. That included a wonderful Galaxie and a fleet of Mustangs (or is that a herd?). In addition we had we had Ford Capri, MGB and Triumph TR4 on track for some sport and touring car lappery.
For lightweight sportscar fans the air was filled with the higher revving noises of Lotus 23 and the mighty Chevron B8. It was a wonderful day and one to make us feel a lot better.
