McLaren Senna GTR to make world debut at #77MM
The McLaren Senna, the latest hardcore trackday weapon from Woking, will make its global debut at the 77th Goodwood Members' Meeting on Saturday April 6th.
The Senna GTR was previewed in concept form at the Geneva Motor Show in March and the final validation prototype of the new McLaren will be seen for the first time in the metal at Goodwood as part of an awesome parade of McLarens on the Motor Circuit.
The spectacular parade will also feature an incredible mix of McLaren road cars, including the McLaren F1 GTR, P1, Senna and the legendary XP5 McLaren F1 prototype – the car which became the fastest road-going production car in the world in the 1990s.
The Senna GTR produces its 825PS (814bhp) and 800Nm (590lb ft) from a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 and, weighing just 1,188kg dry, has a power-to-weight ratio of 694PS-per-tonne. Advanced aero work means that the Senna produces over 1,000kg of downforce, and the suspension has been fettled using tech direct from McLaren's GT3 race programme.
Only 75 Senna GTRs will be made, at a price of over £1 million, and each one has already been sold. Customers are expected to begin recieveing their cars in September.
Also appearing at the event will be two of Ayrton Senna’s championship-winning McLaren Grand Prix cars, the 1988 MP4/4 and the 1990 MP4/5B. The MP4/4 still holds the record as the most dominant car in a single season, with a winning percentage of 93.8%. The cars will be on display in the paddock, alongside a McLaren Senna road car.
The announcement comes days after McLaren confirmed that the unique LEGO McLaren Senna, made of almost 500,000 LEGO bricks, would be on display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard in July.
